No One Wants to Hang Their Own Pictures

It's been truly amazing to me how often we get called to hang pictures for homeowners. When I started this business 6 years ago, you wouldn't have been able to convince me that I'd do that as often as I do.
Don't get me wrong, hanging pictures is one of my favorite service offerings. I live by the "measure twice cut once" philosophy, and nowhere is that more applicable than hanging pictures for homeowners or businesses. If you're not laser-accurate, you'll potentially end up with a lot of wall repair work.
Speaking of lasers, we only use 180 or 360 degree laser-assisted methods when hanging pictures. This allows for a level of accuracy and precision that you just can't "eyeball", and you'll see the difference when the job is done. Same thing goes for installing kitchen cabinet hardware, but that's another post!
I had the privilege of hanging all of the pictures for one of the Pittsburgh Steelers in his townhouse when he first moved in. Talk about being nervous! I won't disclose his name to protect his privacy, and no I didn't ask for his autograph (I thought that might be kind of tacky). But I got them all hung up perfectly, even going up his stairwell, and he was very pleased with the end result - I even got a nice tip out of it!
I've hung dozens of pictures and TVs since then, but I still get excited when someone asks me to do it. It's one of those services that really makes a difference to people when they first move into a new place. It makes it feel more like home for them.
I once had the honor of designing a layout and hanging pictures honoring some of our elderly WWII veterans right before Memorial day at an assisted living facility. You should have seen the faces of these old war-horses once their portrait photos were up! It was quite a rewarding experience for me and I was glad to do it.
The thing that no one realizes is how patient and meticulous you have to be to get it perfect on the first go. I think that's why no one wants to do it themselves!
So if you're a new homeowner, and/or you have several photos or portraits or most anything else that you want put up on your walls to make it feel more like home, please give me a call at (412) 573-9101. I'll be happy to come take that task off your plate, because I already know you don't want to do it yourself!
